Whether you’re clocking up airport miles, dancing between dinner spots, or plotting an off-grid escape, Summer 2025 is all about footwear that keeps up, without compromising on mood. This season’s standout footwear drops prove that function and style no longer live in separate wardrobes. From sculptural hybrids that flirt with couture to all-terrain sandals designed for borderless travel, the lines between fashion, utility, and freedom of movement have never looked more fluid. Schön! rounded up the freshest releases ahead of summer.

Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS
Cecilie Bahnsen returns with her most technically intricate ASICS collaboration to date — a delicate clash of past and future. The new GEL-KAYANO™ 20 builds on her cult Mary Jane silhouette, now infused with archival ASICS hardware and a sculpted floral cage that wouldn’t look out of place in a runway finale. Designed in olive and vanilla/silver colourways, they’re as suited to gallery-hopping in Paris as they are to long, slow summer walks with nowhere in particular to be.

Birkenstock x Maharishi
Birkenstock and Maharishi unveil the Mogami Terra Tech sandal: a utilitarian update of a heritage silhouette, fusing suede, nylon webbing, and quick-release buckles in earthy tones. Inspired by military-grade equipment and outfitted for everyday exploration, it comes with add-ons like a crossbody strap, double carabiners and tabi socks. Launching 30 May online and select global locations, it’s available in unisex sizes 35–46, starting from €280.

Jimmy Choo — The Archive: 1997–2001
To mark the lead-up to its 30th anniversary, Jimmy Choo reissues a curated capsule of icons from its first five years. Creative Director Sandra Choi, alongside Conner Ives and fashion journalist Alexander Fury, dives into the brand’s early DNA — from the lilac feathered heel immortalised by Carrie Bradshaw to slick boots and barely-there sandals. More than a nostalgic nod, this edit reasserts the craftsmanship and spirit that defined the house then — and still does today.

MARNI x HOKA
Then there’s MARNI x HOKA, who take maximalism to the max with the BONDI B3LS. Arriving in four vivid shades, the collab pairs Marni’s bold, serial design language with HOKA’s cult comfort tech — complete with cushioned soles and mix-and-match laces for personal flair. The campaign, shot in motion, leans into the idea of fluidity and repetition: each colourway is a variation on a theme, echoing the rhythms of movement and creative expression alike.

NAKED Copenhagen x Salomon XT-6
For their debut collaboration, NAKED Copenhagen and Salomon reimagine the cult XT-6 trail shoe through the lens of a Danish summer — pink mesh, warm vanilla, deep burgundy, and grounded brown. Originally built for endurance runs and since adopted by the fashion crowd, this version softens the silhouette without losing its edge, merging Salomon’s alpine roots with NAKED’s women-first ethos.

Tropicfeel
Meanwhile in Barcelona, Tropicfeel teams up with former Nike creative director Peter Hudson for the TERRA.001 — an all-terrain sneaker pitched as a “new category” of travel shoe. Breathable, water-friendly, and squishie-soled (yes, really), it’s built to transition between jungle paths and urban grids. But this isn’t just tech for tech’s sake: Hudson’s ethos is rooted in a bigger shift. “Travellers are the new athletes,” he says, urging wearers to move with purpose rather than pace.
